Abstract
Cette étude longitudinale sur l’intégration linguistique, scolaire et sociale des élèves issus de l’immigration au secondaire dans une région du Québec présente quelques défis d’intégration sociale vécus par ces sujets pendant leurs deux premières années dans la société d’accueil. Les objectifs de l’étude sont de documenter les trajectoires scolaires de ces adolescents et de démystifier leur intégration dans les classes ordinaires ou spéciales. Le cadre théorique considère la nature réciproque du processus d’intégration, ainsi que les diverses stratégies d’acculturation utilisées par les élèves. Toutefois, le présent article sera consacré à présenter la perspective des jeunes immigrants. Les résultats révèlent des défis importants pour ces élèves dans les expériences qu’ils vivent, les obstacles individuels et systémiques et l’importance des facteurs socioaffectifs dans leur processus d’intégration.
