Today, the international community and countries’ challenges are: awareness of the importance of translation, storage and transmission of cultural heritage, understanding the role of the previous values in the modern world, which in the context of globalization are a subject to inevitable transformation and loss. Coming into contact with the cultural heritage, people increasingly aware of their identity and, consequently, the general values of life. The article investigates the search and finding cultural identity by positioning the cultural heritage of the Sino-Russian Metis living in Tryokhrechye of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. The preserved and identified prevailing calendar, as well as family and everyday rituals and holidays, picked their specificity. Due to factors contributed to the preservation of the Orthodox culture in another ethnic environment found transformational change, given the problems that exist today in the Orthodox culture of the Sino-Russian Metis of Three Rivers. The factors influencing the loss of some aspects of the Orthodoxy. The paper discusses the degree of preservation and use of the Russian language in communication, factors influencing the loss of language, preservation of the least analyzed at a certain age group. The article as a whole is the comparative analysis of the traditional culture of the Russian Tryokhrechye and TransBaikal region, identifies the best preservation of the cultural heritage. The study established a base influenced transformation of culture of the subethnos. The paper provides cultural identity of the Sino-Russian metis. It identifies state cultural policy on the development of China’s territory and positioning the Tryokhrechye Russian-Chinese metis. Thus, the results of the field study in the autumn of 2015, Tryokhrechye of IMAR (China) lead to the following main conclusions: At the Russian-Chinese metis defined dual identity, bilingualism and the dominant Chinese language. Only the elderly generation retains the cultural heritage of the metis. The loss of continuity is connected with the non-possession of the Russian language by the younger generation. There is a substitution of values of cultural and material heritage. The state cultural policy of China is focused only on “the use and exploitation” of the cultural heritage and human resource of Sino-Russian Metis for tourism development, and not the solution of serious problems for the conservation of cultural heritage and cultural identity of the sub-ethnic groups.
