Abstract
Die Stadtrendite versucht, den Wert eines privaten oder öffentlichen Unternehmens für die Stadt zu messen und umfasst dabei neben ökonomischen auch gesellschaftliche und ökologische Aspekte. Der Diskussionsstoff um eine zufriedenstellende Bewertung der Ertrags- und Kostenkomponenten reißt hierbei allerdings nicht ab. Auf keinen Fall darf eine positive Stadtrendite ein Argument gegen die Privatisierung von öffentlichen Wohnungsgesellschaften per se sein. Letztlich wurde mit der Stadtrendite eine wichtige Debatte neu belebt: nämlich die Diskussion um den Sinn öffentlicher Wohnungsbestände. Dies dürfte langfristig wohl der größte Nutzen der Auseinandersetzung sein.
