Abstract
This article is devoted to the topical problem of Canada-UK relations history the legislative statement of principles of foreign policy activity and the status of dominions within the British Empire. The author gives a substantiation of relevance of the investigated theme. The basic extent which influenced transformation of attitudes of dominions and mother country are considered, the basic stages of Canada's sovereignty factors in first third of the 20th century are analyzed. In the clause a change of a degree of dominions' foreign policy independence from lord Balfur's declaration of 1926 to the statute of Westminster passed by the British parliament in 1931 is consistently analyzed. The author describes the evolution of self-governing dominions' status between imperial conferences of the 1920s.
