Abstract
L’article explore les dynamiques qui régissaient les relations entre les hommes dans les prisons parisiennes du xviiie siècle. Il fait ressortir les stratégies, les transactions et les manœuvres qui étaient à la disposition des prisonniers et qui leur permettaient de s’affirmer en tant que communauté. Ainsi rassemblés, les prisonniers ne se contentaient plus de subir leur enfermement : ils osaient revendiquer et contester comme un seul corps. Cette prise de position commune leur conférerait même, parfois, un pouvoir propre à réformer le monde carcéral.
