Abstract
L’historiographie donne à la France un rôle souvent central, parfois disproportionné à l’essor des relations internationales du Québec au cours des années 1960. L’objectif de cette étude n’est pas de remettre en cause l’importance du rapport France-Québec, mais simplement de porter le regard ailleurs, particulièrement vers les pays du tiers-monde dans le contexte des premières tentatives d’institutionnalisation de la Francophonie. Nous cherchons avant tout à explorer le rapport des responsables politiques québécois à ces pays, afin de découvrir les tenants et aboutissants des conceptions de l’Autre africain. Si les échanges diplomatiques entre le Québec, le Canada et l’Afrique francophone ont été détaillés, la question raciale reste toujours invisible.
