Abstract
Los poetas puneños contemporáneos Gloria Mendoza y Boris Espezúa describen en varios de sus poemas el espacio altiplánico como un lugar inmutable, estático, espiritual e inocente. Esta representación idealizada del mundo andino forma parte de una estrategia literaria que se apropia de las ideas sobre lo andino, ampliamente difundidas por algunos estudios etnográficos y autores indigenistas, con el fin de crear un proyecto utópico que establece un vínculo entre el presente andino y el pasado milenario de las culturas que habitaron y habitan el Altiplano. De este modo, los dos poetas buscan no solo reivindicar el valor de las sociedades andinas contemporáneas sino también garantizar su propia visibilidad cultural en Perú.
