Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The article is exploring the perception of Italian art by Russian travelers in the context of European aesthetics and ethics thought at the end of 18-first quarter of 19th centuries. The author analyses the influence of artistic critique on tastes and preferences of travelers. A considerable part of the article is devoted to the analysis of their interpretations of works of art.
