Dans un contexte où toujours plus d’adultes poursuivent leurs études en Formation de base commune, plusieurs vivent des défis de persévérance scolaire. Notre recherche descriptive-interprétative avait donc pour objectif de recueillir et d’analyser les points de vue et les expériences d’adultes inscrits en formation de base commune afin de mieux comprendre les dimensions intrapersonnelles, interpersonnelles et institutionnelles qui entrent en jeu dans la capacité de ces adultes à persévérer. Notre article dresse alors un portrait de soixante-cinq adultes en formation. Leurs parcours scolaires passés et présents, leurs situations de vie actuelles et leurs projets d'avenir montrent la valeur accordée aux études et leur volonté de réussir en s’appuyant sur leurs ressources personnelles et les ressources pédagogiques mises à leur disposition.
