Eutopía dedica estas líneas a manera de sincero y sentido homenaje a la apreciada profesora y colega Dra. Kerry Preibisch, fallecida el 28 de enero de 2016. Profesora en Sociología, Antropología y Estudios en Desarrollo Internacional en la Universidad de Guelph, en Ontario, Canadá. Kerry Preibisch era una inteligente y sensible investigadora reconocida a nivel internacional por sus estudios sobre sistemas agroalimentarios globalizados y migración laboral. Kerry fue precursora de los estudios sobre trabajadora es agrícolas migrantes a la dinámica agroindustria canadiense; sus estudios sobre los migrantes mexicanos y guatemaltecos en Canadá, con enfoque de género, son un referente imprescindible de la sociología rural de Norteamérica y México.
