Abstract
This chapter gives an overview of the accessories that can be used and are helpful during a routine or more complicated ureteral stenting. It suggests specific technical tips according to certain situations that could be encountered during vesico-ureteral manipulations. The ureteral catheter or double-J stent may be placed at the end of the endoscopic procedure to guarantee the drainage of renal cavities and avoid post-operative complications. It is especially advisable after a long procedure, in the presence of residual fragments or ureteral lesion, and when a ureteral access sheath has been used for a prolonged period of time. A large variety of ancillary equipment and accessories are available in the field of endourology. However, an adequate knowledge of all this equipment is essential to achieve success the ureteral access even in special situations as a partial ureteral duplication or a severe tortuous ureter.
