Abstract
La montée en puissance de la notion de vulnérabilité dans le monde du travail est associée à des attributs dévalorisants. Les formes de catégorisation et de traitement de ceux qui, individuellement ou collectivement, se voient accoler cette étiquette de « vulnérables » contribuent à fabriquer une représentation duale du monde du travail. L’occultation de la vulnérabilité ontologique au profit de processus de projection et clivage favorise une conception désincarnée et idéalisée de la personne autonome. L’expérience de la maladie contribue à déconstruire ces illusions. Aussi, les malades au travail apparaissent comme des révélateurs de l’inadaptation des normes contemporaines du travail arrimées au déni de notre condition d’êtres corporels et temporels. La portée politique de la question de la vulnérabilité et des obligations sociales qu’elle implique est ici soulignée : sa reconnaissance est une condition de l’humanisation du travail.
