Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The article presents the results of a content analysis of three television news magazines: «The Fifth Estate» (Canada), «60 minutes» (USA), «60 minutes» (Australia) and three evening bulletins: «The National» (Canada), «Evening news with Scott Pelley» (USA), «Nine News» (Australia). The author reviews three approaches to studying of televisions news magazines, compares the selection of topics for evening news to such of news magazines, analyses the coverage of world news and domestic news and puts together the subject categories thus determining the similarities and differences in content. The study allows us to understand genre characteristics of news magazines in the context of news content on television and identifies the role of news magazines in terms of all television news content.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
