Abstract
Comme le titre de l'ouvrage le laisse entendre, la douzaine de contributions qu'il comprend abordent l'évolution des formes de savoirs autour de 1800 dans des perspectives multiples qui relèvent aussi bien de l'analyse du discours et des médias que de l'anthropologie culturelle tout en étant liées entre elles par un intérêt commun pour les formes d'exposition et de mise en scène.Marquées par des courants de pensée fort différents, elles s'attachent à une problématique commune constituée par la référence au « seuil de 1800 », au « concept de savoir » et à l'interrogation « poétologique ».Trois thèmes structurent l'ensemble du volume : tout d'abord l'interrogation sur la production des signes dans leur contexte physiologique, médial et textuel, puis celle portant sur la production d'un savoir de gouvernement intégrant aussi bien les procédés statistiques et économiques que les procédures juridiques et judiciaires et, enfin, l'analyse de la genèse des cadres conceptuels qui constituaient la condition spécifique pour la saisie et la codification du savoir historique depuis le XIXe siècle.
