Abstract
The article presents the results of a comparative study of the traditional model of interrogation and the one developed in England and Wales and used in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The main attention is paid to the initial stage of the working phase of interrogation. According to the authors, involvement into the conversation stage contributes to the atmosphere of interest the person being interrogated to establish the truth of the case and the willingness to participate in the questioning and, if necessary, in subsequent investigative actions in the course of criminal proceeding.
