Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The bitter flavour which sometimes occurs in Netted Gem potatoes is attributed to abnormal accumulation in the tuber of the glycoalkaloid solanine To determine the effect of cultural practices on solanine content, plots of Netted Gem potatoes at Edmonton were subjected for two seasons to treatments that included two depths of planting, three levels of hilling, and two dates of planting with single-eye and multiple-eye seed-pieces The differences in cultural treatment were not associated with any differences in solanine content or yield of tubers in either season The solanine content of tuber samples collected from a fertilizer trial under irrigation at Brooks, Alberta, failed to reveal any significant effect of differences in fertilizer treatment, but a marked increase in tuber solanine occurred after a top-killing frost Very bitter tuber samples from several locations in Alberta contained toxic levels of solanine, but showed no greening of tubers Investigation showed that usually one or more unfavourable...

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
