Abstract
The article discusses the features of the Canadian tourism industry and tourism vocational education, including such features as its decentralization, the impact of cultural and ethnic heterogeneity and the role of Aboriginal students in educational system. Special attention is given to three basic principles of higher education (access, equity, diversity). The basic activities of the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council are presented. The structural specificity of Canadian tourism industry standards was concerned. Analysis of specific professional activities of the Canadian tourism sector and its relationship with the tourist professional training was made.
