Abstract
Cet article s’insère dans le cadre d’une étude de l’engagement linguistique dans le paratexte des premiers dictionnaires du français et fait suite à l’examen du discours préfaciel des deux éditions du Dictionaire Francoislatin de Robert Estienne (1539 et 1549). Les épîtres préfacielles de Jacques Dupuys et de Jean Le Frère (de Laval) aux éditions dites de Jean Thierry, respectivement de 1564 et de 1572, montrent désormais un engagement prononcé en faveur du français.
