Abstract
This article proposes to lay the theoretical and epistemological foundations allowing an in-depth examination of the experiences of a group of tourists participating in a Cuban musical stage production in Santiago de Cuba. Arguing that this is still a field of research little explored in ethnomusicology, the author begins with a review of existing scholarship on the relationships between tourism and music. She then considers the concept of experience and its cross-application to these two domains. Finally, she is interested in a field methodology which permits a holistic experience of these domains, namely embodied research.
