Cet article fait valoir la pertinence des Tests dynamiques (TD) pour mieux évaluer le potentiel en lecture d’élèves ayant une Déficience intellectuelle légère (DIL). Il découle d’un travail de recherche qui procède par étude de cas contrastés (une élève en fin de primaire et un élève en début de secondaire), et qui emprunte une méthodologie mixte impliquant des données issues de tests statiques (WIAT-II ; Wechsler, 2005, et ELFE ; Lequette, 2008), d’un test dynamique (adaptation du WIAT-II) et d’entretiens (enseignants et élèves). Les résultats révèlent que le potentiel en compréhension de lecture de ces élèves est sous-estimé lorsque évalué uniquement avec un test statique. Toutefois, en étayant en cours de passation, il est possible de mieux situer leurs connaissances en lecture, spécifiquement en compréhension, et de contourner les difficultés liées à leurs caractéristiques cognitives et affectives.
