La utilización de proyecciones de cine y video en la puesta en escena dramática es ya un recurso común en el teatro contemporáneo, y la animación también forma parte de las posibilidades que ofrecen los lenguajes audiovisuales a la representación dramática. En este contexto, la compañía chilena Teatro Cinema ha sido pionera en la transformación del espacio dramático a partir de las nuevas tecnologías, ofreciendo composiciones espaciales híbridas que acercan el lenguaje teatral y el cinematográfico de formas inéditas. En este artículo proponemos un comentario de Historia de Amor, la obra de esta compañía que, además de lograr esta hibridación de la manera más eficaz, introduce también las estrategias expresivas del cómic, ofreciendo una especie de novela gráfica animada con actores en vivo, que expande la experiencia teatral, pero también inaugura para la animación un nuevo espacio de contacto con su público, en el ámbito de las artes vivas.
