Abstract
Des procédés rhétoriques permettent de fusionner des phénomènes aussi divers que le terrorisme, le trafic de drogue et l’immigration au point qu’ils paraissent ne constituer que les manifestations d’un seul et tentaculaire complot. Ces procédés résident par exemple dans l’énumération sous forme de listes d’événements très diversifiés et dans l’agrégation dans un même discours de faits, de situations et de phénomènes qui n’ont d’autre lien que leur proximité lexicale dans l’espace physique d’un texte. L’auteur illustre de plusieurs exemples la manière dont s’élabore ce nouveau discours sur la menace qui tend à globaliser et à exagérer la dangerosité des phénomènes étudiés.
