This paper shows how to compute precisely the orientation of the dipole elements at the surface of a reflectarray. The orientation is obtained as the projection of far-field E of the pyramidal feed horn onto the plane of the reflectarray. It is shown that this orientation is not uniform across the reflectarray. The difference between the orientation at an arbitrary point of the reflectary and the orientation at the centre of the reflectarray, is maximum at points in the inter-cardinal planes. For a square reflectarray of 12 cm per side, illuminated by a 26.5 GHz pyramidal feed horn with its phase centre located 13.5 cm away from the centre of the reflectarray, the difference can be up to about ±5°.
