Abstract
가시엥 라포엥트 는 수사학적인 면에서나 주제 면에서 전통을 따르지 않는 새로운 시를 썼기 때문에 퀘벡 시의 현대성이 지나가는 길목에 서 있는 작가로 평가받는다 실제로 그는 초기에는 단순히 서정적인 감성으로 나라 에 관한 시를 주로 테마 면에서 썼으나 점점 현대적인 시각으로 춤추는 인간의 몸 을 언어와 관련시키며 시를 씀으로써 글 쓰는 주체의 현존성을 정립하려 했다 한 비평가의 말이 이를 확인해 준다 즉 가시엥 라포엥트가 처음 작품부터 마지막 작품까지 시인으로서 중시했던 것은 우선 몸동작들 즉 주체의 강력한 현존성을 확립하는 그러한 다양한 몸짓들이다. 몸은 순간적인 것에서 영원성이 발견되는 일종의 절대적인 장소라고 생각하고 라포엥트는 신체적 창작 활동의 결과인 춤을 언어 창작 활동의 결과인 시와 결부시킨다 인간의 육체를 본인만의 새로운 시각으로 바라보며 그는 춤을 추는 몸의 동작이 어떻게 언어 현상과 상징적인 관계를 갖는지 생각한다 그는 입술을 통해 발음되는 낱말의 언어기호적인 특성이 무용술 또는 안무법과 어떤 상관관계를 갖는다고 보고 이점을 시 속에 표현한다 따라서 춤추는 몸이 시의 장소가 되고 시가 춤추는 몸이 된다 무용수의 자연스러운 몸짓이 글쓰기관점에서 보면 그대로 한 편의 시가 되는 것이다 그에게 있어 시가 인간이 할 수 있는 최선의 표현방법인 것처럼 춤도 인간의 가장 완벽한 표현방법이다 그가 필로볼러스 공연단 이 무용단은 년 미국의 다트머스대학교 무용과 학생들이 창단한 무용단으로 퍼포먼스 댄스를 주로 보여줌의 오셀러스 상연 때에 무용수들의 춤을 직접 보고 시를 쓴 것은 바로 그 때문이다
