Cette recherche vise les politiques et interventions municipales concernant trois types d’équipements à l’égard desquels la municipalité se trouve dans des positions fort diverses dans le processus d’accueil et d’insertion urbaine des immigrants. Il s'agit des équipements récréatifs, des équipements culturels et de l'habitation sociale. Le trait commun aux positions occupées par la municipalité dans ces divers champs se trouve dans le fait qu'elle est interpellée à la fois par les mandats et demandes venus d’en haut (gouvernements supérieurs) et par les situations ou demandes provenant des acteurs de la société civile.
