Abstract
Ce projet de maitrise s'inscrit dans le cadre des nouvelles filieres energetiques renouvelables et s'effectue au sein de la Chaire de recherche industrielle sur l'ethanol cellulosique creee par trois partenaires industriels (Enerkem, CRB et Ethanol Greenfield) et le gouvernement du Quebec en collaboration avec l'Universite de Sherbrooke. La strategie d'un des partenaires, Enerkem, est de convertir par gazeification des residus de biomasse non homogene en Syngas, ce gaz est ensuite converti en methanol puis en ethanol. L'objectif principal de ce projet est la conversion catalytique de l'acetate en alcool. Un catalyseur commercial, compose de cuivre et de chrome, a permis l'obtention des conversions de plus de 95 % et une selectivite pour l'ethanol de plus de 50 % avec l'acetate de methyle, de 99 % avec l'acetate d'ethyle et de 50 % avec l'acetate de butyle. Les conditions optimales trouvees impliquent une temperature de 215 [degres Celsius]. , une pression de 350 psig, une vitesse spatiale de 1800 h -1 H2 STP et un ratio H2 : Acetate de 7. Un catalyseur alternatif, a base de cuivre et de zinc, a aussi ete teste. L'objectif secondaire est la carbonylation du methanol en acetate. Cette etape a ete realisee en phase gazeuse ou des rendements tres eleves, soit plus de 2000 kg d'acetate de methyle par kg de metal precieux a l'heure (kg AM kg metal precieux[indice superieur h]), ont ete obtenus. Les conditions d'operations testees impliquent une temperature variant entre 200-240[degres Celsius], une pression entre 250-600 psig, des ratios MeOH : CO de 1 a 2,5.
