Abstract

Mobile web browsing is becoming very popular with the recent advances in the satellite and wireless networks, and the growing popularity of the World Wide Web. The mobile users generally have limited resources, such as low bandwidth and low-resolution terminal, compared to the conventional desktop users. It is important to develop techniques that will enable the mobile users to access the web efficiently through a low bandwidth wireless network by using their low-resolution terminals with limited memory. In this paper we propose a dynamic adaptation technique to enable the efficient and fast access to the web documents for users with handheld mobile devices such as satellite or cellular phones.
