Abstract
Les femmes n’ont jamais aimé qu’on les prenne pour acquises, pas plus dans l’Antiquité que nos jours. Deux œuvres présentent, malgré leurs différences d’époque, de culture et de genre, un point de vue commun sur le couple, où les maris, quelque soient leurs motifs, considèrent leurs épouses comme acquises : L’ Odyssée d’Homère et le film de Stanley Kubrick, Eyes Wide Shut (1999). Dans les deux cas, les épouses, profondément offensées, se vengent en semant dans l’esprit de leur conjoint Ie doute sur leurs exploits sexuels.
