En 2014, s’ouvrira la période de la commémoration du centenaire de la Première guerre mondiale. Face à la mémoire multiforme de ce conflit qui affecta bien des familles, les bibliothèques ont entrepris d’importants projets de numérisation dont l’ambition est de diffuser sur internet une part importante de leurs collections sur le sujet, mais aussi de promouvoir le partage des témoignages directs du conflit qui sont conservés par des particuliers. L’action des bibliothèques sera certainement un appui de poids pour les réflexions sur la guerre qui ne manqueront pas de se développer tout au long de la période 2014-2018.
