Les historiens modernes affirment que la reine Mousa aurait non seulement assassiné son mari, le roi parthe Phraate IV, mais qu’elle aurait aussi régné deconcert avec son fils Phraatakes qu’elle aurait du reste épousé. Nous porterons attention au récit de Flavius Josèphe qui mêle le faux et le crédible, et à l’influence probable de thèmes folkloriques. Par ailleurs, les monnaies sur lesquelles figure la reine Mousa ne permettent de croire ni au mariage avec son fils ni a un éventuel rô1e politique.
