Abstract
Microstrip antennas have been receiving widespread attention in communication systems due to their attractive features like light weight, low cost, capability of integrating with active circuits and so on [1]. They can also be good candidates as reflector antenna feeds, by optimizing their radiation characteristics [2]. In this particular application, it is important to know their phase center location and minimize the crosspolarization. For rectangular microstrip antennas radiating the fundamental mode, the effective point of operation is generally well defined and has been investigated in [3].
