Abstract
Cet article traite de la façon dont Properce, dans son troisième livre d’élégies, fait prendre conscience au lecteur de son désengagement graduel de Cynthia et réussit la transition à d’autres formes de poésie. Il présente l’argument selon lequel les transitions sont effectuées principalement entre les élégies 3.16 et 3.21, un groupe de poèmes dans lequel Properce utilise de diverses façons les topos du voyage pour signaler l’évolution de son intention poétique. On y démontre que ces poèmes sont organisés stratégiquement pour mener au grand voyage (magnum iter) de Properce (3.21) vers l’érudite Athènes.
