Abstract
Over the past 10 years, the African region has become a location of growing interest as an investment destination for multinationals. This change in mindset is clearly being demonstrated as more South African multinationals shift their focus from a European/global emphasis to concentrate on neighbouring countries within the African region. In view of this change in investment focus, SAIT decided to direct a tax conference aimed at tax issues arising within continental Africa (in other words, sub-Saharan Africa outside South Africa). This conference was supported by the African Industry Tax Association (a group of multinationals with multiple-country presence within Africa) and hosted at the premises of ENS with the facilitation of Celia Bekker (ENS Executive: African Regulatory and Business Intelligence). The conference was held on 8 and 9 June 2015.
