Abstract
Ce rapport est divisé en trois grandes parties. La première brosse un portrait sommaire de l’immigration à Laval en 2001, en la comparant à la situation pour l’ensemble du Québec et en faisant ressortir les évolutions depuis le recensement précédent. Une deuxième partie décrit les caractéristiques générales de la main-d’œuvre immigrante de la région de Laval. La troisième partie sera consacrée aux difficultés d’insertion des immigrants sur le marché du travail.
