Abstract
À partir de recherches empiriques portant sur des mouvements pour une démocratisation ou pour une transformation de la vie quotidienne dans cinq pays (Canada, Liban, Belgique, Espagne et Turquie), les articles de ce dossier se penchent sur différentes modalités et enjeux de ces formes d’engagement « individualisées mais solidaires », incarnées dans l’« alter-activisme », une culture activiste qui a été redéployée et mise en œuvre par des jeunes militants sur les places, dans des campements, en ligne ou dans la vie quotidienne. L’alteractivisme place la relation à soi, l’expérience vécue et la cohérence entre les pratiques et les valeurs du mouvement au cœur de la conception de l’engagement et du changement social. L’engagement fait la part belle à la subjectivité, à la créativité, à la transformation de soi, à l’expérience et à l’expérimentation. La démocratie y est conçue comme une revendication adressée aux dirigeants politiques mais aussi et surtout une exigence personnelle, une valeur qui doit s’incarner dans ses pratiques et dans sa manière de se relier aux autres.
