Abstract

-- ABSTRACT: \nOver the last decade, the prevalence of diabetes, a chronic disease, has steadily increased. This disease affects every age group, in particular, children. In order to promote quality of life for the younger diabetic clientele, health professionals must improve their knowledge in skills development in certain fields. These skills can only be acquired through education. In Quebec, the school nurse is responsible for diabetic children's integration in school and has a very important educational role in the quality of life of these children. She is responsible for teaching all staff members who work closely with diabetic children. In addition to their educational role, school nurses must be skilled in their pedagogical approach. This research has been done in order to assess the implementation of awareness training with regard to therapeutic patient education (ETP) for school nurses to sustain their educational role with school contributors affected by pediatric diabetology. The methodology used to frame this qualitative study refers to the constructivist evaluation of Guba & Lincoln(1986) adapted by Sylvain (2008). First, data was collected through a questionnaire given to 16 school nurses who have at least one diabetic child in their clientele and have been trained in ETP. A follow-up was conducted, four months later, by interviewing 7 school nurses who participated in the first part of the study. \nThe results of this research study indicate that, initially, through the questionnaire about educational knowledge, there is an increase in educational knowledge from 59% durng the pre-training stage to 79% during the post-training stage. There was a 94% satisfaction rate among the 16 participants who completed the questionnaire to assess the training offered. The interviews indicate the positive contribution and the shortcomings of this type of training as well as the effects of ETP training and the conditions of its clinical application in the province of Quebec. -- Mot(s) clé(s) en anglais : diabetes education, school health services, school nurse, diabetes school, school health nursing, diabetes mellitus type l, nurse atitudes, school health nursing, therapeutic patient education.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
