Abstract
Réalisées pour les artistes et les amateurs, les études photographiques d’après nature ont fait l’objet, depuis une trentaine d’années, d’analyses renouvelées portant sur leur lien avec la peinture et le dessin de leur temps. Les nombreuses expositions et publications ont ainsi permis de renouveler, pour partie, le lien entre peinture et photographie. Cet article propose d’analyser ces études d’un point de vue de la génétique de leur propre création, offrant ainsi de retracer la conception des images elles-mêmes, en considérant la création picturale pour laquelle elles ont été utilisées non comme fin seulement, mais également comme source, comme intention première, comme ébauche. Une analyse génétique d’images, longtemps considérées comme produits mécaniques, devient alors pleinement possible ; au-delà de la représentation, c’est l’objet photographique, l’épreuve particulière utilisée spécifiquement qui pourra également faire l’objet de recherches futures.
