Abstract
Settlement and appropriation of place is a reality in the colonized world and has left its mark intentionally and unintentionally by partitioning economic, social, and environmental connectedness. The phenomenon of migration and displacement in the postcolonial world has dissociated people from their histories and meanings of places (Young, 2001). Place-making is a response; a practice of discovering social meaning in and through the places we inhabit.
