Abstract
L’aliénation parentale est aujourd’hui définie comme le trouble de l’enfant qui s’allie fortement avec un parent et, de façon injustifiée, rejette l’autre parent. Trop longtemps on a maintenu l’idée que la seule source du trouble réside dans la malveillance du parent allié qui « instrumentalise » l’enfant pour atteindre l’autre parent. Bien que dans certains cas ceci puisse être un facteur contribuant, un parent qui exerce des influences aliénantes, n’est que rarement de mauvaise foi. En plus, dans nombre de cas on peut identifier d’autres sources encore plus importantes, par exemple, des caractéristiques psychologiques et même tempéramentales de l’enfant lui-même. D’autres facteurs sont également discutés dans cet article, tels que certaines particularités des interventions judiciaire et clinique qui, plutôt que de résoudre le trouble, risquent de l’intensifier.
