Abstract
Cette histoire du Mouvement canadien pour la paix passe en revue les principales influences socio-politiques qui ont fait émerger l’activité pacifiste. L’étude des origines et des buts des groupes pacifistes canadiens est résumée et divisée en quatre périodes : après la Première Guerre mondiale, après la Deuxième Guerre mondiale, après 1963 et la fin des années 70. Cette étude conclut sur la proposition que le mouvement pacifiste canadien illustre le développement d’une nouvelle conscience collective, c’est-à-dire un processus de politisation dans lequel les citoyens sont amenés à s’impliquer dans les prises de décisions politiques.
