Abstract
Un vaste corpus critique et littéraire dont les composantes formulent autant de théories de l'échange interculturel existe déjà, mais des limites significatives décelées au sein des concepts qui les composent ont souvent affaibli leur pérennité critique. En partant de ces théories et d'oeuvres littéraires transnationales issues de la Caraïbe anglophone, cette présentation propose d'explorer comment les métaphores peuvent se lier aux déplacements géographiques de populations et de cultures pour proposer une désignation nouvelle – la tropicalité, métaphore joignant les tropiques et leur traversée aux tropes – des travaux artistiques et critiques interculturels concernés et de leur éthique de l'échange interculturel.
