Abstract
Les restructurations organisationnelles entraînent fréquemment des mises à la retraite anticipée. Afin de permettre à ceux-ci de s’adapter à un tel changement, les organisations publiques et privées offrent parfois des services d’accompagnement aux employés touchés. Afin de mieux comprendre l’impact de ces changements forcés sur les préretraités et l’efficacité des programmes d’accompagnement, les auteurs examinent l’état de santé d’un groupe de préretraités de la fonction publique fédérale du Canada. Ils avancent que les problèmes de santé physiques et psychologiques des préretraités sont généralement de faible intensité et que les programmes d’accompagnement s’avèrent inefficaces. L’article se conclut par un appel à repenser ces pratiques d’accompagnement et les théories du comportement qui leurs sont généralement sous-jacentes.
