Abstract Procedures yielding N‐4‐bromo‐1,8‐naphtaloyl‐(S)‐tert‐leucine, [(S)‐4‐Br‐nttl] ( 1 ) as a pale yellow solid and dirhodium (II) tetrakis[N‐4‐bromo‐1,8‐naphthoyl‐(S)‐tert‐leucinate] [Rh 2 {(S)‐4‐Br‐nttl} 4 ] ( 2 ) as a pale green powder are presented. Following the procedure are notes on the instruments and chemicals used and required. The chapter concludes with a discussion on rhodium(II) carboxylate dimers as catalysts.
