Abstract
Cet article explore les dilemmes de l’emploi artistique sur un marché du travail tel que celui du Mexique, où la précarité tend à se normaliser. Nous avons choisi délibérément d’étudier le cas des musiciens professionnels afin de prouver que la précarité, qui se cache sur ces marchés sous le masque de la multiactivité, envahit les niches d’un emploi traditionnellement plus stable. Cependant, la multiactivité est loin de constituer un phénomène immuable, qui serait imposé de façon unilatérale par le contexte social ou les dispositifs institutionnels au sein desquels les individus vivent et travaillent. Il s’agit bien plutôt d’un phénomène processuel et hétérogène ayant une forte composante subjective: à partir de cette prémisse, la recherche ci-dessous met en évidence le rôle actif des sujets tout au long de leur carrière, ainsi que les stratégies professionnelles qu’ils mettent en place, débouchant sur une combinaison variable d’emplois au cours de leur existence.
