Abstract

Cette thèse porte sur les structures causales, definies comme champs d'hypersurfaces projectivestangentiellement non-dégénérées dans le projectivisé du fibré tangent d'une variété. Le problèmed'équivalence locale des structures causales sur des variétés de dimension supérieure ou égale àquatre est résolu à l'aide de la méthode d'équivalence de Cartan, menant à une {e}-structure surun fibré principal. On démontre que ces structures correspondent à des géometries paraboliquesde type (B_n , P_{1,2} ) ou (D_n , P_{1,2} ) lorsque n ≥ 4 ou (D_3 , P_{1,2,3} ). Les invariants locaux essentielssont déterminés et interprétés géométriquement. Plusieurs classes de structures causales sontconsidérées, dont celles correspondant au relèvement d'une structure pseudo-conforme et celles quisont désignées comme structures causales conformément plates. Un théorème de rigidité pour lesstructures causales conformément plates est démontré. Une notion de semi-platitude est définiepour les structures causales dont les cônes isotropes sont des surfaces projectives réglées, quigénéralise la notion de semi-platitude pour les structures conformes de signature déployée. Uneinterprétation twistorielle est donnée pour les structures causales conform ́ement plates.
