Return to China: Justin Trudeau’s China Policy. An analysis of Canada’s motivation in developing its relation with China from 2016 onward
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Sino-Canadian relations have enjoyed a long history, and are increasingly important in today’s modern world. This major research project studies the development of a new era for Sino-Canadian relations under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Government. By identifying and elaborating on the driving forces behind Canadian efforts to deepen ties with China, we begin to understand the motivations for this new and cooperative relationship. The purpose of this study is to provide theoretical discussion and intellectual support for international relations in the golden age of Sino-Canada relations. This major research paper tries to understand what are the motivations of the new liberal Government of Canada in developing a closer tie with China from 2016 onward. This paper concludes that the Canadian government has chosen to actively develop friendly relations with China, based on a variety of factors, such as Trudeau’s heritage and liberal tradition, as well as various economic factors, the global power shift, and cooperation on global issues. By recognizing its position in Sino-Canadian relations as well as its position on the international stage, it is wise for Canada to further all-round cooperation with China.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
