Ce texte présente le témoignage d’une infirmière en santé communautaire qui oeuvre également en tant que thérapeute holiste. D’abord initiée à la pratique professionnelle traditionnelle en milieu hospitalier puis en CLSC, elle a décidé de poursuivre sa formation à travers une démarche alternative holiste. Un stage prolongé en Californie (au Healing Center de San Francisco) lui a donné l’occasion de participer à plusieurs cours (Shiatsu, réflexologie...); une fois revenue au Québec, elle a peu à peu intégré les éléments de cette formation à sa pratique professionnelle officielle, puis à une pratique hors-réseau. Les différents moments de sa réflexion sur le sens de cette plongée dans l’univers alternatif et sur son rapport avec le système de santé sont esquissés.
