Un modèle mathématique de prédiction de l’uni des chaussées flexibles en termes d’indice de rugosité international (IRI) a été dérivé et testé. Il a été bâti sur les hypothèses rigoureuses et comporte les paramètres suivants : la déformation permanente (ε p ), le soulèvement au gel (S), la fissure transversale (F t ) et le coefficient représentant l’effet d’amplification ou d’atténuation des longueurs d’onde (K). Le modèle a été testé avec optimisme sur le sable Fossambault et l’argile Saint-Alban sans et avec les conditions de gel. Une analyse de la sensibilité du modèle a aussi été effectuée et les résultats obtenus semblent réalistes et pertinents. Toutefois, le modèle à son état actuel est un outil purement théorique. Il nécessite d’être calibré et validé avec des données d’uni des chaussées existantes.
