Abstract
Depuis la fin des années 1990, le marché canadien de l’habitation traverse une période de forte croissance. En s’inspirant de différents courants de pensée en économie politique, cet article propose un cadre d’analyse pour examiner les transformations qui sont à l’origine de cette récente effervescence immobilière et en retracer les principales étapes. Il met en lumière la prise en charge financière dont font désormais l’objet les pratiques résidentielles ainsi que leur participation au processus de financiarisation du capitalisme.
