Abstract
On assiste aujourd’hui à un véritable paradoxe : les jardins collectifs urbains se développent en ville alors que les sols urbains sont peu connus. La localisation de ces jardins suscite des interrogations en termes de risques sanitaires puisque nombre d’entre eux ont été (et sont encore) implantés sur des délaissés urbains. Des controverses apparaissent sur la capacité du sol urbain à accueillir ou non des cultures à vocation alimentaire, ce que nous analysons à travers deux documents d’expertise. Nous mettrons ces deux guides techniques à l’épreuve de la notion de « science impliquée » pour expliciter d’abord les intentions et les valeurs qui constituent la démarche d’expertise ; il s’agit ensuite de comprendre ce qui distingue ces différentes formes d’expertise sur la question des cultures en ville à savoir : le rapport à la connaissance et à l’incertitude, le rapport au temps, le rapport au public et aux choix de sociétés.
